Discussed in the report is the experience obtained during development and operations of SMIS information system for satellite data users. Special organization of satellite data storage is suggested to solve the problem of supporting different task-specific archives. This approach provides flexibility required for support of different thematic programs through the separate interfaces based over a common storage of raw and processed satellite data.
