Loupian E.A., Mazurov A.A., Nazipov R.R., Proshin A.A., Flitman E.V.

// 4 International Symposium on "Reducing the Cost of Spacecraft Ground Systems and Operations, 2001.

The report discusses the problem of developing satellite data storage systems, that would meet the today's requirements on prompt access to data, stability and robustness in operations and low costs of development, installation and maintenance. The present report describes the approach based on two main principles: high level of automation of system operations and an universal architecture. It is based on an experience obtained and development performed by SMIS Lab (IKIRAN). The report summarizes the limitations and requirements for functional components that should be implemented in the data storage system to achive high level of automation. It also describes the components of an universal basic architecture developed at SMIS IKI RAN, that allows building different satellite data archives with similar functional structure using a single approach.Discussed are the core components of this architecture along with details of their software implementation. Presented are examples of implementation of the proposed technology to real sarellite data systems, developed and maintained by IKI RAN using the approach and technology described in the report.
